Build a network of 10 lakh people in India who will contest and win elections in the entire political hierarchy - from Panchayat at the bottom to Lok Sabha at the top.

The Better India Through Clean Politics Award


Why This Award
It is common knowledge, perception and reality that most people in politics are corrupt or people without principles.

If someone joins politics, then the common interpretations is that (s)he is corrupt (or will soon be).  People say it will be a sad day if so and so honest person joins politics and well-wishers will NOT allow/invite honest leaders enter politics.

Thus, our parliament will increasingly be populated with people fit ONLY for prison! That will remain so till we have negative connotations about the world "POLITICIAN" in public consciousness - EVEN THE DICTIONARY LISTING IS SCARY:

a seeker or holder of public office, who is more concerned about winning favor or retaining power than about maintaining principles.

These people, with out any principles, are allocating and directing usage of country's funds and resources and setting nation's destiny. Just voting is not enough because there is a scarcity of good political leaders.

The solution is to find 10 lakh good politicians in India who will contest and win elections in entire the political hierarchy - from Panchayat at the bottom to Lok Sabha at the top. An inspired group of citizens have together to work towards this objective under an informal group called “India For Clean Politics (ICP)” (https://www.facebook.com/iChangePolitics).

ICP has initiated this award to accelerate the process of finding good 10 lakh good politicians in India.

We are inviting everyone to participate in the award - people, organisations, trade unions, individuals, social activists, civil society, non-profits, NGOs, politicians and political parties who committed to facilitate positive developmental changes across India at a fast pace.

The Award Process

  • The entire award would be executed with complete transparency and all record would be in public domain

  • An eminent set of Jury Members, whose integrity cannot be doubted, would be invited to screen the nominations and choose winners

  • There would be public voting on Internet and, if possible, an offline process (SMS, email, letters) to vote as well.

  • Public votes would be considered as most important critical criteria but not the determining criteria as many honest politicians may not be able garner votes through all mediums

  • Nomination process: Self nomination is possible, but ideally a group of individuals (the larger the better) should nominate a person for the award.

  • Each nominee will have to declare their assets on the award portal.

  • People with criminal records will not be considered as valid nominees

  • After the Grand Jury, name of the winners will be held confidential and will be announced only during the award distribution ceremony.
